I do need to clarify that I am not implying that the USA was founded or constituted as a Christian nation is any offical way. In fact our founding fathers were very clear about freedom of religious expression.
However, history clearly bears out that for the first 100-150 years of our counrtry's history the vast majority of citizens in this country (both slave and free) practiced a Bibilcal Christianity. Most were protestants and one of the primary motivations for leaving Europe to come here was to escape a religious system mandated by the state (The Anglican Church).
The point is that the morality and ethical behavior of these pilgrim settlers was in line with the morality of the Bible. They were Godly people with standards and disciplines that honored God. As result, I believe, this new country was greatly blessed and we are now rich, powerful and free. The strength of America in in her churches.
My aim is not a history lesson, I don't claim to be an expert in that area. But my commentary on the moral decline in our nation is accurate and it should be concerning.
